The Search For PT

As I was finished up my AP US homework in bed last night, I told Orson this thrilling tale of my detective search for my phone.

8:25pmMe
what up brotha
8:26pmOrson
sup dude
8:29Me
something quite tragic has transpired
8:30pmOrson
uh oh
do elaborate
8:30pmMe
yep its bad
downright ominous
8:30pmOrson
pray tell
8:31pmMe
my cellphone.............is GONE. stolen by some pesky middle school kid. i once had hope of its return. but a week has gone by and things look bleak
8:31pmOrson
alas! quel malheur. tragedy has befallen you. have you any recourse?
8:33pmMe
hold on one sec
8:33pmOrson
i too am victim of a cellular plight. although, this one of my own making.
8:38pmMe
ok. now that i've googled the meaning of recourse.......hehe. well, richard might get a new phone sometime and give me his....but the true tragedy is not the phone itself but firstly, the inconvenience of getting everyone's numbers again...
8:38pmOrson
i know right
but it's a good chance to weed out the unneccessaries
8:39pmMe
but some are impossible to obtain again
8:39pmOrson
in which case they probably aren't needed
8:40pmMe
anyway...and secondly, the agony of never knowing who called or left texts during this past week.
8:40pmOrson
hahahahahha
8:31pmMe
well there's also a very engaging and a little pathetic detective story associated with my phone
8:45pmOrson
you should blog about it. did u find out who stole it?
8:45pmMe
that's what its about.
although i'll let you know.....the end is NOT very satisfying
8:47pmMe
mmmmm.....i don't know if its blogging material...it feel very stalkerish when i tell it
8:48pmOrson
well freakin tell it already
8:48pmMe
well alright! it begins when I realize my phone is missing.
i search and i search, but to no avail.
8:49pmOrson
where
are you at this point
8:49pmMe
I'm at home
after having been over to the church earlier that day
then, i look online and tmobile.com says that someones been using it to call all these random numbers
8:50pmOrson
continue
8:51pmMe
after further inspection, i find that PT (phone thief) really likes Lil Wayne and had downloaded a significant amount of ringtones
8:51pmOrson
i kind of like PT now
continue
8:52pmMe
the best villains are the ones people sympathize with
anyway.
all notions of an innocent finder are gone. i am out to catch this PT
8:53pmOrson
how is this done
8:54pmMe
oh scripture and prayer. be back in 10. .....to be continued.......
8:54pmOrson
nooooo
9:03pmMe
ok resumed
9:03pmOrson
go on
9:04pmMe
so. first. i call a number listed online that was dialed out from my phone by PT.
as you might expect...it was a pretty awkward phonecall
9:04pmOrson
hahahaha
9:05pmMe
i explained my situation and asked who had called them from that number. they denied everything and hung up.
9:06pmMe
undeterred, i called one of the other common numbers. it was a 6th grade girl named kaylee. she was pretty nice, and said Kyle Bryceland called her from that number.
i can condense this a little more if you want btw
9:07pmOrson
no. go on
9:07pmMe
ok
9:08pmOrson
go on
9:09pmMe
kaylee talks to PT at school and calls me back and says that Kyle doesn't know about any stolen phone or its whereabouts
meanwhile, mom looks up all spelling variations of Bryceland in the phone book
9:10pmMe
deciding to take a less direct approach on my next phonecall, i take one of the numbers on tmobile.com and reverse phonebook it online. meaning you enter the number and it gives you a name and address
i got a mrs. parker from bremerton
called her up and she was the mother of 2 sons who go to mountain view middle school.....possible associates of PT?
9:12pmOrson
verily
9:12pmMe
unsuspecting of her children's mix ups with such criminals, she was pretty helpful, but she knew nothing, and her kids weren't home
9:14pmMe
i call back several times over the next few days, and never get a straight answer....and by this point, i feel really stupid pursuing this so avidly
so, in the end, the phonecalls become too awkward for even me to bear, and i just let that lead fall by the wayside.
9:15pmOrson
at any point have attempted calling your phone
9:16pmMe
numerous times no answer. but....if you had stolen a phone....why would you answer it? obviously whomever it is isn't calling for you
9:16pmOrson
criminals are notoriously lacking in intelligence.
9:16pmMe
especially 10 year old ones
anyway, still fiercely loyal to my beloved phone, i do the unthinkable
i go. to . the school.
9:17pmOrson
hahaha. noo way
9:18pmMe
that's what i'm telling myself as i walk into the main office. but i can't help it! we have no home phone and that device is my only connection to anyone!
9:19pmOrson
facebook....but go on
9:19pmMe
i walk in.
there's a nice lady and an office assistant.
the office assistant student asks me my name and purpose
i look at her name tag....its says KAYLEE
i panic
9:20pmOrson
lol
9:20pmMe
i've come this far, and just decided to roll with it
i tell her i lost my phone and i think a 6th grade student has it. Judging by her lack of reaction, its not the same Kaylee I spoke with on the phone.
they transfer me to the 6th grade office
i walk over and have to explain my stupid stupid plight yet again
she calls the counselor in and i tell my story again. it gets lamer every single time
but she's nice about it and calls Kyle to the office (she talks to him while I'm stashed away in her office) the only relief from awkward confrontations i've had in days
after about 15 minutes, she comes in and says that Kyle doesn't have the phone and she just told him to turn it in if he saw it
9:24pmMe
she also says that she'll talk to Kaylee and see if she has any ideas.........but yeah........i've made my peace. i'll never see that phone again. THE END

I am so thoroughly impressed with your investigatory skills. Most of the time the awkwardness of the situation keeps me from seeking justice, but sometimes people strike a nerve. And then those people have to go down by any means necessary. Bravo, Penny. Bravo. I say continue the search.

I wanted to take the parent to parent angle and tried multiple phone numbers trying to reach Tara Bryceland. None of the numbers worked (hence the need to steal phones).
I was planning to say "your son has done this and must return"... you know Parent to Parent.
